The Courthouse is both a piece of Wairarapa history and a private residence straight out of a storybook.

After starting life in 1868 as the Masterton Courthouse and telegraph office, the building later became a shearers quarters before it was moved to Carterton and faithfully restored to create a warm, sunny home.

One bedroom with open plan kitchen/living and native timber woodwork. The Courthouse is insulated top and bottom and heated by a wood burner.

The building is set back from the road amid rose bushes, fruit trees and the beginnings of a permaculture garden on a quarter acre section at the edge of town. Live year-round in this comfortable home or build on the front section (subject to Resource Consent) and keep the Courthouse as a charming Airbnb or guest quarters.

This unique property is a must-see for any astute buyer with a love of authentic properties.

LJ Hooker Carterton are delighted to bring this unique property to the market, so give us a call to make an appointment to view.
